Covid has claimed a key fixture of the New Zealand summer of sport. The 2021 ASB tennis Classic, due to be played in Auckland in January, has been cancelled due to the complexities of running a tournament amid the global pandemic.
Tournament director Karl Budge told sports reporter Brenton Vannisselroy it's an incredibly sad day.
