From Checkpoint, 6:26 pm on 5 October 2020

Wellington's beloved ecosanctuary Zealandia is mounting a large scale trapping and surveillance effort after someone deliberately cut a hole in its predator free fence.

The 225 hectare sanctuary is home to many rare and threatened native species including Kiwi, Hihi and Tuatara.

Zealandia's Director Dr Danielle Shanahan told reporter Eva Corlett she's horrified by the deliberate vandalism.
