Justice reforms - what progress has been made?

In 2017 Labour campaigned on transformative change in the justice sector, promising to target the causes of crime, and the cycle of reoffending.

It held a Justice Summit in 2018 that delved into all aspects of the system, in an effort to get a mandate for reform.

There Justice Minister Andrew Little faced backlash from victims who felt sidelined and revictimised, and he quickly announced there would be a separate victims meeting.

But many victims still feel completely let down by the system. Political reporter Yvette McCullough looks at what progress has been made, and what parties are promising to do for victims.
