Auckland is now the most pessimistic region in the country about its economic future - overtaking Otago.
That's despite the latest data showing the extent of job losses during the city's recent lockdowns are nowhere near as bad as predicted.
Auckland Council had forecast 250 jobs a day would go during level three restrictions - but official figures show the employment costs are far lower than first feared.
