Tax cuts have now become a major election issue with National unveiling a massive - but short term - package.
It's worth about $4.5 billion and would run from this December to March 2022 - delivering about $3000 to the average wage earner.
The money would come out of the $14 billion set aside for future Covid response with National arguing the tax cuts would help adddress an economic crisis.
Super Fund contributions would again be suspended and spending cut on government iniatives like the fees free tertiary policy, and KiwiBuild.
