The Labour Party is headlining its election season education policy with a promise to close the pay gap for early childhood teachers.
It has also reannounced its pledge to extend its free lunch programme, scrap the decile system, and to end the fees free at university after the first year of study.
National says the policy is another example of Labour's failure to deliver.
