The chief executive of the volunteer firefighters' association Bill Butzbach has been suspended while allegations of bullying and harassment are investigated.
The complaints relate to incidents several years ago and will now be the subject of an investigation by Kristy McDonald QC.
Her probe comes as Fire and Emergency faces mounting pressure over the way it handles complaints over sexual assault, harassment and bullying.
