Pipe bombs were used by thieves trying to get cash out of a Hamilton ATM machine in the early hours of this morning sparking a major police emergency.
The Chartwell Shopping Centre was cordoned-off just after 6.30 while police and the Defence Force's bomb squad got rid of the devices, one of which was exploded in the attempted heist.
