Australian police are issuing a stark warning for parents after a Sydney man was arrested for allegedly grooming and exploiting a nine year old New Zealand girl through social media.
The 23-year-old is charged with transmitting indecent communications with a person under the age of 16 - a crime that carries a maximum seven year jail sentence if he is convicted.
The investigation was prompted by a tip off from NZ Police. Superintendent Ben McQuillan of the Australian Federal Police led the investigation.
