The government has today launched the first phase of its Progressive Home Ownership scheme.
The $400 million scheme was announced as part of the KiwiBuild reset in September last year, and was part of the Greens confidence and supply agreement.
Today the government announced two providers - the Housing Foundation in Auckland and the Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust - are receiving funding to help 100 low-to-medium-income families into homes. It's promising more providers will be announced soon.
But National says this scheme is three years in the making - and another example of the government's failure to deliver on housing.
