The eastern states of Australia are on tenterhooks as Victoria recorded it's highest daily number of infections since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak.
There were 484 new cases overnight, and two more deaths, bringing Victoria's death toll to 44, with the nation-wide toll at 128.
And despite the continual surge in cases, premier Daniel Andrews has denied reports the state will enter into a New Zealand-style lockdown.
