New South Wales gears up to close border with neighbour state Victoria

New South Wales Police are calling in the defence force to help them close the border with Victoria for the first time in more than a century, as Covid-19 cases surge in the southern state.

With 127 new cases of the virus today in concerning hotspots, Victoria's premier Dan Andrews agreed to the call, over the phone with the Prime Minister Scott Morrison and NSW State Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
