Some hospitality businesses are so busy they're turning away bookings, while others are still feeling the effects of Covid-19.
That's what a new survey by the The Restaurant Association shows. Businesses in Auckland, Wellington and Queenstown are mostly down on last year.
But Canterbury is bucking the trend with most cafes and restaurants reporting they're back to pre lockdown levels.
