Major overhaul of NZ health sector proposed

Half of New Zealand's district health boards - and all of their elected members - could be be gone under huge health system changes announced on Tuesday.

A report into reforming the country's health and disability system has been released - and is largely supported by the government.

It aims to simplify what it calls an overly complex and health system - but is adding two new government organisations to the mix.

Health correspondent Rowan Quinn reports.
