NZ free of Covid-19, level 1 begins - what you need to know

From Checkpoint, 6:06 pm on 8 June 2020

New Zealand will move to levle 1 at midnight Tuesday morning and in a happy coincidence, on the first day since the outbreak there are no cases of Covid-19.

Usually there's 48 hours notice for a move to a lower level, but the Prime Minister says New Zealand is ready to move. This marks the return of almost normal day to day life and business.

However the borders will remain closed, and the economic fallout will persist for months, if not years to come.
