Covid-19: Govt MPs, public sector leaders take 20 percent pay cut

The most senior politicians and public servants are taking a pay cut in solidarity with New Zealanders facing hardship under the strain of Covid-19.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the 20 percent pay cut would be in place for six months.

It comes on the same day the Finance Minister announced tax breaks for small businesses and the official three week mark of the month-long lockdown.
