PM Ardern cautiously optimistic as new Covid-19 cases ease

The Prime Minister remains cautiously optimistic about the fight against Covid-19, as the number of new cases in New Zealand continues to slowly fall.

Today there were 50 new confirmed and probable cases, bringing the total number to 1,210.

Twelve people are in hospital, four are in ICU - two in a critical condition.

At least 282 people have now recovered.

It is promising news - but Jacinda Ardern warns New Zealand must stay the course.
