Covid-19 disrupts NZ courts more than WWII - Chief Justice

The Chief Justice says the Covid-19 outbreak has disrupted court business in a way not even seen during world wars.

Tens of thousands of district court cases alone are now up in the air.

In an unusual step, the country's top judges met journalists this morning to discuss how courts are faring - and adapting - during the pandemic.

RNZ court reporter Anneke Smith was there and filed this report.
