Govt allows NZ travel for internationals catching flights home

The government is making an exception to the domestic travel rule - allowing foreign nationals to travel by air or land so that they can catch international flights home.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced details of the a plan to enable a "safe, orderly exit" for the tens of thousands of people stranded in New Zealand due to the lockdown, and increasingly closing international borders.
