Police have admitted they were caught on the hop when faced with doing home checks on thousands of people arriving here from overseas.
Travellers were sent home and being trusted to self isolate under strict conditions. It turns out they weren't all being checked up on.
The Prime Minister has also revealed plans that will help foreigners trapped in New Zealand to get home.
