Covid-19: Unions urge Air NZ not to rush redundancies

Thousands of Air New Zealand workers are fighting to keep their jobs as the airline struggles with a massive drop in income.

The national carrier expects income to slump by $5 billion after slashing 95 percent of its flights.

The unions want the airline to tap into the government's wage subsidy scheme to keep workers on the books but pilots say job losses are a reality.
