Covid-19 NZ lockdown preparation: Busy streets, queues at gun shops

From Checkpoint, 5:27 pm on 24 March 2020

It has been a chaotic day in parts of Auckland as people scrambled to prepare for tomorrow's four-week lock down.

Queues of people getting tested for Covid-19, along with queues of people doing some last minute shopping, made for busy streets and stressed drivers.

Come Thursday those streets and stores will be much quieter and people were making the most of their final outings.

Checkpoint cameraman Nick Monro and reporter Nita Blake-Persen hopped in the car to check out the situation - and a note, all their interviews were conducted from at least two metres away.
