Businesses feel squeeze as Covid-19 restrictions increase

From Checkpoint, 6:11 pm on 20 March 2020

The forecast for businesses around the country is growing bleaker each day as efforts to contain Covid-19 ramp up.

Businesses will recieve the lion's share of a mega $12.1 billion dollar economic rescue package announced earlier this week.

Wage subsidies, capped at $150,000, are on the table for any business that can show turnover has dropped by 30 percent or more.

It's the lifeline many businesses need but it won't be enough for some who are shutting their doors for good.
