A Pike River family member says he feels betrayed by a decision not to re-enter the main workings of the mine.
The announcement was made along with an extra $11 million to complete recovery of the main entry tunnel by July or August.
That means the cost of finding the cause of the explosion and the bodies of the 29 men who died has doubled to $47 million.
But as Conan Young reports, some think the job is being left half done.
