Air New Zealand is likely to reduce its workforce by 30 percent as the effects of Covid-19 take their toll on the aviation industry.
This could mean up to 3,500 employees potentially may lose their jobs. It is being described as the biggest downturn in world aviation since the Second World War.
Earlier on Monday Air New Zealand placed itself in a share trading halt and announced widespread cuts to its international and domestic services.
