Covid-19: Pandemic declared, Trump suspends EU-US travel

The World Health Organisation has declared a global pandemic in the wake of Covid-19 and US President Donald Trump's has announced travel from Europe to the US has been suspended for 30 days.

That does not include the UK. The markets in New Zealand have just closed and taken a dive in response. Auckland Airport is in a trading halt.

Ryman Health, Skycity, Air New Zealand, Tourism Holdings and A2 Milk have all taken huge hits.

In the US, the NBA has suspended its season immediately. And Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, currently in Australia, have announced they have both tested positive to Covid-19.
