Droughts are likely to be declared in more regions as the big dry spreads further south and farmers continue to struggle with water shortages.
Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor says sprinklings of rain won't do much to replenish the dry land, but when farmers need assistance, the government will step in to help free up financial support for those that need it.
