Third Covid-19 case first caught, transmitted case in NZ

From Checkpoint, 5:11 pm on 5 March 2020

The country's newest case of corona virus is the first to be caught and transmitted in New Zealand that health officials know of.

A man in his 40s is the first known to have contracted the disease without having travelled to a country that has the virus. Instead, he caught it from a family member who had returned from Iran two weekends ago.

That person is a probable fourth case.

RNZ health correspondent Rowan Quinn reports.
