Police officer on trial accused of raping colleague

A police officer has gone on trial accused of raping a female colleague in Northland.

The 29-year-old man, who can't be named, faces one charge of indecent assault and one of sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection.

The incident is alleged to have happened at a Kerikeri motel in the early hours of 5 February last year.
