Tauranga's mayor says people are angry and scared after two people were found dead at a house in a rural area near the popular McLaren Falls.
A homicide investigation has been launched, but the police won't say whether the incident is gang-related.
But mayor Tenby Powell says the latest violence comes amid increasing gang activity in recent weeks.
