It may be weeks before police identify human remains found buried underneath an Auckland home.
Contractors renovating an old villa on Marlborough Street in Mt Eden halted work after unearthing the remains on Friday.
The disruption turned the leafy suburban street into a potential crime scene - crawling with police and investigators as they embarked on a forensic examination.
