Bombarded by ads on your Facebook feed and ever wondered how they got there?

This election year the Labour Party is signing up to Facebook's advertising transparency rules, which means you''ll be able to see what the organisation's ads cost and who they are directed to.

The rules are compulsory in the US, UK, Canada and the EU but not in New Zealand. Prime Minister and Labour leader Jacinda Ardern made the announcement on Thursday - while recommitting to what she calls a relentlessly positive campaign that will above all be factual.

The Labour Party's campaign chair Megan Woods explains why they're signing on.
