Govt unveils new road safety plan

The government is defending spending more money on making existing roads safer, rather than building new highways, as it unveils its ten year road safety plan.

The "Road to Zero" plan will see speed limits drop on unsafe roads and penalties increase for high risk driving, such as using cellphones.

There are also plans to give the police new powers to drug-test drivers.
