UK election: Corbyn ready to quit as Conservatives head for win

The governing Conservative Party is on course for a decisive win in the UK general election.

The Conservatives have taken a string of former Labour strongholds as counting continues.

Exit polls predict a majority of possibly 80 seats in Parliament, an increase of around fifty on the Conservative's tally in 2017.

The incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it looks like his party has been given a powerful new mandate.
