Transpower says it is still trying to figure out what caused a massive power outage to the top of the North Island on Wednesday.
A circuit supplying power to Northland and the Far North tripped around 9:30am, while the back up was down for maintenance.
The outage affected around 80,000 customers north of Warkworth, leaving much of the region without power.
