It's grey all the way for Carterton's clock tower, with a little ray of sunshine yellow.
Just over of those who voted backed that colour combination for the town's tower.
The other grey and white option and a rainbow colour scheme - were both rejected.
The campaign was fraught with allegations of vote tampering and underhand tactics and the result is not without controversy either.
And only 17 percent of those eligible voted.
Carterton Mayor Greg Lang tells Lisa Owen he voted for colour.
"Our CBD needs lots of investment and if we can attract attention to Carterton, all the better."
