Mums who want to breastfeed in Wellington's public pools have been officially prohibited.
It comes six months after a mother was told to get out of a pool at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre because she was breast feeding her 20-month-old son.
The City Council says breastfeeding while in the water poses a risk of contamination but some mums say authorities need to be making life easier rather than harder for new parents.
