Reti at odds with Bridges on immunisation policy

National's associate health spokesperson Shane Reti is at odds with his leader over whether solo parents should be required to immunise their children in order to receive a benefit.

The idea has been floated by the Opposition Party as part of its social welfare discussion document, and Simon Bridges was quick to endorse it.

But just a month ago, National's Shane Reti - the party's associate health spokesperson - was dismissing the idea of a "no jab, no pay" policy, calling it intrusive, and warning it would hugely increase inequity.

RNZ deputy political editor Craig McCulloch spoke to Dr Reti and asked him whether he stood by that position.
