A biologist observing a seal who may have been shot at the weekend says the injury could change the cheeky mammal's behaviour forever.
Resident leopard seal Owha is a familiar face around Auckland's Waitematā Harbour - known for sunbathing on pontoons and nipping the odd inflatable dinghy.
She was found bleeding from the head on Saturday from a suspected gunshot wound - an injury that might have permanent physical and behavioural effects.
