Whānau coming forward 'in droves' for Oranga Tamariki inquiry.

The head of the Māori-led inquiry into Oranga Tamariki says it's made huge progress with whānau Maori, after they lost trust in the department's internal review.

One whānau is refusing to engage with the Oranga Tamariki review after social workers tried to remove a six-day-old baby from a mother in hospital.

But the Māori-led inquiry says whānau have been turning up in droves to share their stories, saying it's a process they can trust.
