State funeral planned for Tongan PM 'Akilisi Pohiva

A state funeral will be held in Tonga's capital for the country's prime minister 'Akilisi Pohiva.

The teacher, journalist and then democracy activist - turned politician died in Auckland yesterday after a battle with liver disease and pneumonia.

Jacinda Ardern says authorities are working on returning his body to Tonga as soon as possible, while the Kingdom begins an official mourning period.
