Former constable speaks out on bullying in NZ Police

A former police constable says he considered suicide because of the persistent bullying he faced during his time with the police.

The man was a police officer for nearly three decades in England and New Zealand, but says he quit a few years ago due to mental stress.

He is one of 40 current or former police staff who have now told RNZ that bullying is widespread in the police force.

RNZ police reporter Ben Strang has more.
