Immigration NZ says no to foreign students for visa fee waiver

From Checkpoint, 6:20 pm on 9 September 2019

Despite calls from students and a union, Immigration New Zealand says it's not likely it will waive visa application fees or relax other rules.

Dozens of foreign students were left high and dry when their business school went into liquidation last month and was deregistered by the NZQA.

Students are still waiting for their final assessments to be marked and don't know if they have passed the course.

But they say they are out of pocket, and want the Minister of Immigration to intervene.
