Ardern 'frustrated' at Labour's handling of assault complaints

From Checkpoint, 5:10 pm on 9 September 2019

The Prime Minister says she's deeply concerned and incredibly frustrated by the way the Labour Party has handled allegations against a staffer.

Jacinda Ardern says differing accounts of the allegations, which are now reported to be sexual, have been relayed to her and she wouldn't express confidence in the Labour President over his handling of the matter.

Her comments come following allegations published by The Spinoff that a Labour Party staffer committed a serious and sustained sexual assault on a 19-year-old volunteer early last year.

RNZ political reporter, Jo Moir, has the story.
