The five Chinese tourists who were killed in a bus crash near Rotorua had only just begun their holiday in New Zealand.
Twenty-seven people were on board the bus when it crashed on State Highway 5 on Wednesday.
The victims, who included a young child, were on day one of a 12-day trip to New Zealand and Australia.
