There have been tears of shock and sadness as a man accused of murdering a Mangawahi toddler was instead been convicted of manslaughter.
Ariah Roberts suffered an unsurvivable head injury in the care of her mother's former boyfriend Aaron Archer last August.
The Crown said it was murder while the defence argued it was a tragic accident.
On Thursday afternoon - after deliberating for more than two days - the jury delivered a verdict in the High Court in Auckland.
