Will a new generation bring diversity to local councils?

A diverse range of New Zealanders are contesting next month's local body elections, with some saying they're frustrated with who's making decisions over their lives. In the current crop of elected members, the vast majority are Pakeha, older and male.

But a new generation appears to be rising up in pursuit of the reigns of power.

RNZ reporter Jordan Bond has the story.
