Vandalism or activism? James Cook statue spray-painted

Gisborne councillor Meredith Akuhata-Brown says the vandalism of a statue of James Cook is an act of activism that prompts healthy debate about New Zealand's history. The statue was spray-painted with the words 'thief', 'Pakeha' and 'This is our land'.
