IPCA report finds officer used ‘gross abuse of power’

The police watchdog has found the handling of an arrest in South of Auckland almost three years ago was excessive and unlawful. It found an officer deliberately and forcefully kneed a man in the head twice during an arrest in Ramarama, near the Bombay Hills, in 2016.
