Southern DHB CEO Chris Fleming says the DHB has conducted an extensive review into its maternity model but cannot offer 24/7 primary birthing units throughout the region. He told Lisa Owen the "overall model" has improved and services are enhanced throughout the region, which has resulted in minimised risks.
